Touch up your Photos with a few clicks and transform the Astir Beach Vouliagmeni image to what I like to call now Astir Beach Mist.
To get to this result, 3 filters or actions have been used in Photoshop CS4.
Starting with the original image of an Astir Beach Sunset, the kaleidoscope filter by Mehdi was doing the trick to mirror and flip the image.
The Kaleidoscope filter produces the following image, which needs to be cleaned with Wire Worm on 4 spots where the Kaleidoscope filter produced stains:
To finish the Image, we just add a simple frame using the Angels Glass Action:
This results then in the surprising image as shown on top.

When 10 days ago we started the Photoshop Ycademy for YORGOO and Ycademy members, the program outline looked like a huge task. Today we see, how much can be accomplished within little time by ordinary people making extraordinary efforts. Tonight’s training will be a clean up session to finish up with some basics and the implementation of more action scripts, namely to accomplish more day to day tasks.
Last night’s session was dedicated to product wrappers; it’s all about the look! Great stuff was created and I am looking forward to see some of it on Google Top 10 Images. While we have shared with participants some impressive actions, we are preparing two Photoshop Packs containing some interesting stuff I have on my computer and which I find useful for professional use of Photoshop. Here below a gallery of some sample images I did in just a few minutes; hope you enjoy! See you tonight at 7 pm London at Yorgotalk!

How to build a local website, focusing on your town or city? WP Best City or Town Theme by Semiomantics is the answer! WP Best City or Town is not really a theme, it’s a concept for people who want to bring their town and activity to the internet. Semiomantics builds module based Town or City Blogs and CMS in function of the needs of the user.
Every town is different and yet, they all have many common aspects when it comes to presenting and promoting the town, it’s business, events, local market and more. Surfing Google and looking for town sites, you will notice that many towns exist only through rather boring, sterile tourism related directories or politically hyper correct official sites and blogs. Nothing you really want to look at. There are exceptions of course, but chances are that your town is lousily represented on the internet and the people of the town are simply neglected in the equation.
At Semiomantics we have developed a strategic concept to bring towns or cities in front of an interested audience. At present we are testing the concept targeting the community of Vouliagmeni in Greece.
To start with, we use a basic destination CMS and Blog based on the WP Best Destination script by Semiomantics.
This allows us to post editorials about the Vouliagmeni, it’s people, things to do in Vouliagmeni, events, business, shopping, photo galleries, videos and so on. It’s also designed to offer visitors to Vouliagmeni compelling information about the best place on earth :-).
The main site is tuned for high visibility and performance on Search Engines with the clear ambition to play a role on Google Top 10 under any Vouliagmeni related keyword.
Have a look at My Vouliagmeni Main Site.
The real estate market deserves special treatment. For this reason we have optimized a real estate module for high performance and built it straight into the main site.
A sample is here.
Directory scripts are known for limited performance compared to Semiomantics scripts. We have therefore developed the WP Best Classifieds Directory with Semiomantics. This is a stand alone CMS which can be visually integrated and strategically linked with the Main site.
Have a look at the Vouliagmeni Classifieds Directory.
classifieds-screenshotMove your mouse over image or click to enlarge
Vouliagmeni Classifieds Directory
The shop concept is based on the WP Best Shop script from Semiomantics. The shop could sell Vouliagmeni related souvenirs, branded Tees or other accessories and more.
More add-on modules are under development at Semiomantics. We will keep you posted.

The new Town Site Project for Vouliagmeni is evolving: we are building in a new Classified Ads Module. Vouliagmeni Classifieds will be a demo for a commercial add-on or stand-alone module for our Town or City Blog Project.
Classified homepage, listings page and classified details page has been designed after many iterations. Designed strategically, the structure of the page is done in such a way that gives maximum exposure to essential elements. From banner ads to tiny design element, everything is thoughtfully placed at the right place.
Auto expiring classifieds – edit, renew
The classified submission process is really easy and advanced. We use advanced tinymce editor for classified details input so your users can do basic design themselves into their classified
While posting a classified, they can upload as many images as possible. They will need to simply browse and select the image(s) they want in the post and images will start uploading automatically. Not only that, it will also auto re-size and create dynamic thumbnails with zoom functionality.
In each classified, the classified publisher details are highlighted right at the top with seller’s contact info. Not only that, if the site visitor clicks Send Inquiry button, a simple, clean form will appear. Submitting the form emails the content to the ad publisher.
When posting a classified, users will enter their address and Google Map will be automatically generated and will be displayed on the published classified ad.
Site users can forward the classified using email this post. They can also print print the classified with a single click.
The classified theme can also accommodate a separate blog page so you can have a news section in your classified site. Also it does support standard WordPress pages functionality so you can create pages if you need.
The simple, clean design and structure of the theme is built in such a way that the theme can be used to build classified theme for any business. The theme will work just fine for every niche.
Right on your wp-admin dashboard, recently published classifieds are displayed so you can check your latest income right away.
emiomantics will set up and configure the site for you. You just need to add your paypal email ID, specify the price for the categories and start selling classifieds ads on your site.
You can charge money using free and popular payment gateway – PayPal. Simply mention your email ID in the general settings and you are ready to go. Not only that, in near future, we will introduce more payment gateways as well.
Paypal support around 18 different currency and we support that as well. Simply mention the currency you wish to charge for.
You have an ability to allow users to publish an for free in particular (or all) categories and you can keep some of the categories paid. This is a very nice way to boost traffic on your site. You can allow free listings, paid only listing or, both kind of classified listing on your site.
You can keep unique price for every category on your site or, you can keep different prices for different categories. Not only that, you may keep some (or all) categories as free as well.
Wish to check each classified before it gets published on your site? No problem. You have an ability to keep default status of the user submitted classifieds as draft (or published). if you keep the status as draft, It will go live only after you approve and publish.
As you can see on the classifieds theme homepage and listing page, you may charge a bit extra for listing classifieds as featured. A good way to make some extra money.
Ads are strategically place across the theme. You may place your own advertise code. You may also disable them if you don’t want the ad banners to appear on the site.
The WP Best Classifieds Site comes with three different structures so you can select the one that works best for you.
Have a classified site running somewhere else? Or, you wish to bulk upload classifieds on your site? No problem. We do provide a sample .csv file. simply upload your csv file and our theme will import all your classifieds in just few moments.
Different messages are displayed on the site and few emails are sent to emails at events such as successful ad publishing and so on. Admin can edit all those messages and templates from within the wp-admin area.
We are looking forward to feedbacks from our users. Once we get some feature requests, we are looking forward to keep improving this theme ( and we provide free of cost upgrade to all the future versions to our customers for 1 year). So if you buy now, you receive many more goodies for this theme, absolutely free.
The WP Best Classified Ads Module is a development arising from a customer’s need: in fact the existing directory scripts don’t give us satisfaction from an optimization point of view. In fact, traditionally directories have been highly visible 5 to 10 years ago but they have about disappeared from the radar on Search Engines such as from Google Top 10. We have been searching for a solution to apply the benefits of Semiomantics Search Engine Optimization to Classifieds Directories and here we go: Semiomantics WP Best Classifieds unites the semantic benefits of all Semiomantics scripts and can be added to any Semiomantics site as a further monetization module.
The WP Best Classifieds Module is part of the WP Best Themes line of Semiomantics; use and maintenance are therefore similar to WP Best Consultant, WP Best Shop and WP Best Destination.
The WP Best Classified Module can be extended by the Semomantics SEO Power Module as all Semiomantics scripts.
We are loading the first optimized script to the Vouliagmeni Town CMS and Blog to provide a demo in connection with the Town Blog Module.
The Module will be available shortly at the Semiomantics shops for $650, including set-up, configuration and basic customization.
Look out for the Demo site at My Vouliagmeni later today.

The new Vouliagmeni site is built on the WP Best Destination Theme by Semiomantics. The purpose of the site is to Guide visitors through Vouliagmeni and to allow an attractive surf through categories such as Real Estate, Accommodation or Restaurants and Tavernas. The Who is Who section will feature people from Vouliagmeni and an Events section will report about the hot stuff happening in our town.
Vouliagmeni is a town where tradition and posh lifestyle meet. I have opted to use one of my preferred color schemes, the black – white – beige scheme.
I like the see-through glass barrier.
Enjoy and have a look at the real thing here.

New WordPress Theme at Semiomantics: the WP Best Destination Theme. The idea behind the development is to provide Websites focusing on local content. The test theme as shown here below, has been planned and strategically designed for the town of Vouliagmeni, Greece.
Now you can create a comprehensive website for your city which offers a wide range of information about the various destinations in your city using WP Best Destination – a strategically planned and designed WordPress based Semiomantics website for your city.
We have been experimenting with different formats for town or city focused CMS and Blog websites. While the Newspaper or Magazine formats are attractive for readers, we know from Hanno Coetzee’s experience in South Africa (Garden Route Directory and corresponding Town Directories) that the directory format is more interesting for advertisers.
The new WP Best Destination Theme by Semiomantics combines the advantages of the two formats.
As usual, a limited number of Destination Projects will be realized by Semiomantics at a cost of $650 per site including setup, configuration, optimization and basic customization similar to the featured screen-shots above. All hooks for add-ons such as the WP Best eShop or the Semiomantics SEO Power Engine are built in.

Cy Ford is an artist, a painter in the UK, interested in bringing his work to the Internet.
Surprisingly, there is no entry under Cy Ford on Google. There are however loads of references to Ford Motor cars …
Semiomantics will manage and build Cy Ford’s online presence, starting from scratch on a blank page and we will use the project to demonstrate the power of Semiomantics WP Best Websites. Under the Project we will build a Gallery and Shop where Cy Fords works will be exposed and offered for sale.
At the same time we will build Cy Ford’s public image and profile in a Google efficient way to make sure, interested searchers will find the Painter on the appropriate top spot on Google Top 10.
You may follow the evolution of this project by following this series of posts, where we will describe the different steps and achievements.

Once the WP Best business Theme selected and the layout defined we can now add our content to structure the home page in a compelling, informative and visually attractive way.
At the top we find a traditional header banner with the Brand name (or and Logo) in defined fonts and colors.
On the top right we keep a short menu, making it easy to navigate to the main sections of the site:
The choice of the menu links is function of the purpose of the site. Considering that the page will serve as a business landing page for visitors from Social Networks, Facebook for example, we provide a profile page (About), a Contact Form, a link to the shop where products can be purchased as well as a link to the blog section (WP Best).
Thereafter we welcome our visitors in a rather personal way. We want to show that the success of our business is based on personal relations and a personalized approach to the management of each customer’s project. Discussion is needed to tune and to semantically optimize each website for best results and customer satisfaction.
The Semiomantics Signature stands for custom built web sites and the care we take to bring each project to fruition.
After the welcome you find a content slider which I use for large images and a short legend underneath each image. The idea is to show some of the work delivered and to hopefully create empathy. In the case of websites it’s relatively easy as most visitors are first attracted by the look of a site. The presentation of websites with different looks or functions is an efficient way to give visitors a first, preferably good impression of our work. On WP Best Business Theme Home Page I use screen-shots of websites I have built.
The links underneath the images lead to more information, more images of work accomplished and a link to the shop, where corresponding products can be purchased.
To the right of the slider we put a banner, representing a visual branding element we use over and over again, wherever we are able to leave a trace online, for example in social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and so on. The dominant branding throughout all places will make visitors feel comfortable as they recognize the branding element and are assured that they are following the link they wanted to follow. For the time being no link is associated with that banner, however it will be associated to a custom product category in the store.
The third section of the page is a list of Services we provide; the entries link to more information and as the case may be from there to the shop and contact form.
To the right of the service section we use a sidebar widget to allow visitors to also hook up with us on social networks:
The WP Best Business Theme Footer Section contains 3 widgets:
These can be adapted according to needs but for the time being, I just keep them this way. The Flickr stream concerns a series of fun Ads I created for different purposes and constitute a good way to link to the flickr community.
The page is not overloaded with information. When opening the page, the visitor is mainly exposed to a very short text and attracted by the visual elements for a fast informative first impression. No need for complicated searching for content: the top menu and the service section allow to quickly navigate to the desired section of the site. I like the page for its clear structure, the dominating visual elements and the user-friendly navigation.
I would appreciate your comments.
Look out for the detailed content in the services and in the about sections.

Start your WordPress Project today by simply following the WP Best Project. Here is the synopsis of the project, a hypothetical case where a customer would like to sell his knowledge, services or products online.
The Purpose is to build an online presence for an individual who would like to sell services as a website developer, web designer or as an online marketing professional in order to monetize knowledge, know-how and digital products.
If you are unknown in the market, you need first of all a public image, authority in the field of your activity and a trust and confidence inspiring online image.
Second, you need a competitive product which is well presented to the site visitors.
Third you need a website which allows visitors to interact with you, be it by purchasing the product, by contacting you or by discussing with you. (Interactive website features).
Most newbies start with a social network, such as Facebook. A Facebook site can be a good solution provided you develop your Facebook professionally with the goal to drive your Facebook Contacts to your own sales pipeline.
This means: Facebook is not enough to make money as it is not flexible enough to let you present yourself in the most favorable light due to the limitation of freedom, features and due to the association of third party ads to your Facebook pages.
Also, there is more to the internet than Facebook; the Google Search Engine is another fine place where you will target your cold market audience and don’t forget eBay…
At present, my recommendation is to focus on Google, Facebook and eBay to start building your authority and public professional image.
To build your public image you will do the following:
1. Get a domain, preferably a .com representing your name or the name of your business.

2. Set up a website, featuring you, your work and your services.
3. Decide on some basic branding elements, such as your picture, may be a logo, a color scheme and fonts for your website; these branding elements you will use consistently wherever you are able to.
3. Edit your public profile consistently in function of your needs and purpose, be it on your website or on Facebook.
4. Associate your name with the benefits of your services and products and start publishing some interesting articles on your website.
Monetization means that visitors must like what they see and then have a way to follow through on your sales pipeline.
1. Set-up your products.
2. Set-up compelling product sales pages.
3. Set-up a sales pipeline, be it with buy-now features, with a shopping cart or with a catalog.
4. Set-up your customer follow-up, care and support systems.
5. Make sure a maximum of processes are automated.
Based on the above, you will have to decide what you can do by yourself and what you may want to outsource to reach your goal of building a professional online presence.
If you are an all-round genius, you may do it all by yourself.
If on the other hand you need help creating graphics, ads or other media for your site, or if you need built in special features, or if you are not a brilliant copywriter, or if you have simply no clue about websites, hosting, databases, website optimization, content management, keywords, online marketing, search engine optimization, social network marketing and so on, then you may want to take some short-cuts by acquiring the lacking knowledge or by outsourcing the tasks which would be a waste of time to you as you will need to focus on where your money is and is coming from.
In any case, just know: you must be professional. You can save on the money side, but not on the quality. Quality will decide whether you will be visible online or damned to buy exorbitant Google and such like ads for the rest of your life. Google Top 10 positions are of the essence to optimize your cost per sales ratio as well as your ROI (return on investment).
Once interested people can find you, it is essential to inspire confidence with your professional sober, serious and integer look and content. What is visible on your site must be at least as good as what your competitors present and believe me, they are darn good at wrapping up their stuff to even make Santa blush.
At Semiomantics we are a team to take care of all your needs, be it just to set up a site or also to configure, optimize or custom design it. Contact me to find out more.

The Semiomantics eShop is the most recent Semiomantics development. The Semiomantics eShop will shortly be available to to Semiomantics customers at a price of $500, including licensed scripts, configuration, set-up, basic customization and a walk-through.
Here’s a short summary..
One of the reason it took us long time to complete the backend of the e-commerce themes is, usability. We studied best practices of building e-commerce websites, studied lots of successful online eShops and brainstormed some of the key pages and functionality that may impact the sales process that your customer goes through. We reduced the steps of the process, restructured the purchase experience, debated on the small elements such as button / text / colors / notifications etc., finally concluding our base e-commerce theme to be one of the very easiest to use and best performing purchase experiences so far.
You may sell anything – tangible or intangible using Semiomantics eShop. You have an option to create your website in any mode:
Like the standard shopping cart that you see on other e-commerce websites. You may choose to have “add to cart” mode and let the users add all the items they want and then lead them to checkout or, you can have “buy now” mode and take them straight to checkout when they select a product.
If you are selling digital product of any kind, this is a perfect option for you. Are you selling icons, digital art, PDF, e-books, scripts or any other kind of digital goodies? Select this option and when a user makes a purchase, they will have an account generated at your site and they can download their purchase any time. You don’t have
to worry about third party digital delivery sites.
Maybe you only want to showcase your items and don’t want to sell it online? Simply choose this mode and you will have “send inquiry” button instead of buy now / add to cart. Visitors thus, can send an inquiry on the products they like.
Add / Edit / Delete products are as easy as you create a wordpress blog post. You have a custom panel where-in you can edit the product description, different parameters, upload product images etc. real easy.
Depending upon the settings from your admin panel, you can manage the order – approve, process or cancel / reject an order.
As an admin, you can choose Free, Flat rate; Weight or Price based shipping option for your eShop. What’s more you can even set free shipping for particular items in case you’ve set other option for your eShop.
You have PayPal, Autorize.net, Google Checkout, WorldPay, bank transfer and Cash on Delivery as payment gateway options. Choose the gateway you prefer.
You may specify overall tax percentage that applies to all your products and, you may choose to leave individual products tax fre.
Whenever you are browsing the product collection, you have an option to see the products in list view or grid view. It’s built-in by default.
Wish to provide an option to your users to checkout without registration? No problems. Simply activate the guest checkout option from theme admin panel and your buyers will not to register. They simply provide their email address and we create the logins for them. If admin wants, they can choose to send/not send their logins to them.
Users may register on your site or, they will be taken to registration page on the checkout procedure. They will have their own user area where they can keep track of their order, manage profile and download purchased digital products.
Using another shopping cart solution for your eShop and want to switch to our eShop themes? No worries. You can export your data from there in .csv files and import it in your wordpress installation when you use our Semiomantics eShop themes. (sample .csv file included with the theme)
Admin can generate coupon codes for occasional sales promotion.
Built in multiple product image upload. Uploaded images are auto re-sized to fit various thumbnails required throughout the site. Also the product zoom functionality is built it.
Specifying Tax, weight,
color(s), size(s) are easy. Also you may specify different prices for different size/colors just in case.
You may specify Size chart if applied, When viewing a product Similar Products are automatically displayed, Several additional custom widgets are built in such as customer support, Subscribe, socialize, promo banners etc. that you can use for your eShop website.
As an admin, you may choose to activate affiliate program where your customers/others can signup as an affiliate partner and start promoting your products. They will be able to track their affiliate data in real time, and as an admin, you will be able to export/check affiliate reports easily. A great way to boost your sales.
Of course the themes come with a Semiomantics blog, pages etc. functionality with some page templates so you can have a high performance blog for your website.

All Semiomantics Themes will run on the WP 2.9 backbone. You will not notice any visual or visible difference except if you are hosted on outdated MySQL software; in such a case we recommend to either not update or to move the blog to a host fulfilling the appropriate server requirements. (See above: Server Requirements - our Suggestion remains ChiHosters).
The new version of WordPress allows for better handling of child themes where available.
The WP 2.9 version provides new options for optimization and modifies some of the features we have overwritten in the past for optimized performance. Also, as some of the hooks for plugins have changed, which will allow us to enhance our performance with special add-on scripts.
The Semiomantics semantic SEO engine 5.2 will replace the present version 5.1 on high performance customer sites.
Semiomantics script updates will be available shortly; please observe our next few posts where we will detail the upgrades.
